Key Responsibilities
To act as site project manager and to perform surveys during construction, in accordance with LR Rules and Regulations and other applicable standards.
To manage the relationship between the LR site team, builder and owner.
To deal with statutory surveys and certification and where applicable liaise with Flag State Surveyors.
To propose solutions or facilitate the resolution of problems encountered during the building process.
To participate in and contribute to specific job training as directed, this will include LR's New Construction Project Management Procedures.
Key knowledge, skills and experience
Degree in Marine/Mechanical engineering or equivalent level of qualification.
Experienced in classification and statutory new construction work.
A good understanding of shipbuilder and ship-owner requirements during construction.
A good understanding of quality assurance issues and applicable shipbuilding standards.
Commercially aware.
A sound awareness of Corporate Health and Safety policies and procedures, and an ability to be proactive in this area.
